Demo Progress and Brand Preservation
The weather is turning here in the valley with cooler mornings, and the aspens are starting to golden. This time of year, we'd normally be right in the middle of a specialty week, full of new and familiar faces and the sounds of horses coming in from the trails. We miss having you all here for it, and while the ranch is closed this fall, there's plenty going on behind the scenes.
Over on socials, we've shared a set of photos and videos from the Red Barn work taking place. You can click here to see those. We're also taking our time with the careful demolition of every structure that will be rebuilt during the shutdown. Before any walls came down, we went through each building and set aside everything we hope to carry into the new spaces. We expect to wrap up demolition in early October. Another project is carefully lifting rocks out of foundation sites, utility paths, and other spots around the ranch. Rather than hauling these rocks away, we're saving them to use in the new landscaping, so the same stones that have always been part of this land will stay right here.
We’ve also shared a video of Spencer Allen and Ben Harrison from Matukat Construction walking through each of the projects taking shape across the property. It's a good chance to hear directly from the team about what's ahead. You can watch the video here.
This month, we are taking you into the process of brand preservation in the Lodge. These brands hold so much history, each one created by a family during their stay and marked with a checkmark every summer they return, some going all the way back to the 1960s. That's why preserving them has been our priority from the very beginning of this renovation and why we're keeping this space exactly the same. We put together a walkthrough of what that preservation process actually looks like, and you can watch it below.
More to come as the work continues. You can always find past updates archived here at updates.lostvalleyranch.com.
