Fall has settled into the valley, and the crews have made the most of every crisp morning. October was a month of real, visible progress, and we’re glad to share it with you.
Demolition:
Last month we shared that we expected to wrap up demolition in early October, and we’re glad to say it’s complete. Every structure being rebuilt during the shutdown has been carefully taken down. We’ve saved pieces from these buildings that we hope to carry forward into the new structures. It was hard to watch some familiar buildings come down, and we won’t pretend otherwise. But clearing the ground is what lets us build something that will last another sixty plus years.
Maintenance Building:
Up near the cattle guard, the new Maintenance Building is looking more and more like the barn it was designed to resemble. The siding is up, the garage doors are in, and the vehicle lift has been installed.
Wastewater Treatment Facility:
Across the creek at the old arena site, the steel frame for the new Wastewater Treatment Facility is going up. It’s not the most glamorous project on the ranch, but it’s one of the most important to your stay.
Utility Work:
Some of this month’s work is happening where you can’t see it. Crews are boring underground around the ranch to lay new utility lines, so water, power, and everything else will be in place before rebuilding begins.
From the Job Site:
Ben Harrison, co-owner of Matukat Construction, recorded a short video walking through the projects. Hearing him talk about the work is the next best thing to standing on site with him.
More to come as the rebuilding begins! You can always find past updates archived at updates.lostvalleyranch.com.
