Here's What's Coming to Lost Valley Ranch
To our Lost Valley family,
There's something strange about announcing changes to a place that's meant to feel timeless. But part of loving Lost Valley for sixty-plus years means trusting that the heart of it stays the same, even as the buildings around it have to change.
Lost Valley Ranch has been well-loved by generations of guests and staff, and it shows. These buildings won't carry us into the next generation as they are, which means rebuilding isn't a choice, it's a necessity. And because we have to rebuild, we've kept as much the same as we possibly can. To read our original announcement of why we're renovating, you can click here. Today, we're ready to share what's ahead.
The Lodge will be completely rebuilt. The entrance, check-in, dining, and restrooms will all be right where you left them, and every family brand in the Dining Room will be preserved. Read more about the Lodge here.
This render shows the new side of the Tack Room Barn, viewed from the Lodge, and showing the new Rodeo Arena to the right. The other side of the Tack Room Barn will look familiar with the chalkboard and antlers.
The Corral will look and feel like the one you remember, just better equipped to care for our horses and riders. We're preserving the historic front of the Red Barn, rebuilding and expanding the Tack Room, and bringing the Rodeo Arena back to the center of the ranch. The chalkboard will still be in the main Corral with horse and rider assignments, and where you wait for your rides will be in the exact same spot. Read more about the Corral here.
The Trading Post and Fountain will stay where you remember them. We’re rebuilding the entire building, and adding a wraparound deck and restroom, plus a redesigned Store and Fountain, all built to capture the spirit of an old Western mercantile. One of the ranch's historic buildings, the Ranch House, will be carefully restored, and the use will remain the same. Timberline will also remain in the Ranch House. The historic building will blend original architecture with modern comforts for a nostalgic home away from home. Read more about the Ranch House here.

This New Gathering Place will sit across from the Corral where the old Maintenance Shop once stood, built to feel like it's always been part of Lost Valley. The main level will be a social hub for games and friendly competition, and the Round Up Room upstairs will offer a gathering space with a deck overlooking the Corral. Poolside afternoons and evenings with friends and family have always been part of the Lost Valley story, and that's not going away. Both the Pool and Pool House will be rebuilt, with a pass-through fireplace to anchor the gathering space and restrooms for a more comfortable stay. Read more about the Pool & Pool House here.
Behind the scenes, the commercial laundry, or Comm, will be rebuilt. It'll stay in the same spot, with a narrower footprint and more workspace for your cabin girls. Guest Laundry will also still be in this building. Read more about the Comm here.
The cabins have always been the backdrop for memories shared across generations, and we're taking a humble approach to improving them, upgrading comfort and function while preserving the character guests have come to love. Our goal is for future generations to create the same lasting memories as those who came before them.
During the shutdown, we are rebuilding Silverton, Durango, Snubbin’ Post, and Hitchin’ Rail. All other cabins will be remodeled during later phases of construction.
We also wrapped up construction on a new Hay Barn, and are in the middle of construction on a new Maintenance Building and a new Waste Water Treatment Facility. These 3 projects have been completed or ongoing since the start of Summer 2026.

We're confident Lost Valley Ranch will still feel like home when you return. These required renovations are just creating a stronger foundation for the physical structures to last. Long after construction is done, you'll still saddle up with the same wranglers, sit down to the same meals, and feel that same rush the moment you cross the cattle guard. We're making sure the ranch carries all of that forward for generations to come.
